So Sixties ...by GeneralEComment: Does that girl have one blue and one green eye? Would have liked to see that! Nice composition...why the heavy colour cast (I can see it was obviously done intentionally)? Ruins a great shot in my opinion. 5 |

Blueby SJCarterComment: Interesting idea to expose for the sunglasses. Although I'd be lying if I said I found this shot aesthetically pleasing (purely because of all the blown highlights) - 6 for your original take, though. Nice thinking.

Bite meby heidaComment: If this doesn't win it'll be an absolute travesty. Amazing shot - brilliant use of negative space and the lighting is incredible. I like how you've given the head a 'severed' feel and the model expression is brilliant. This is one of my favourite DPC shots ever - great work.

EDIT: Oh yes...10 |

broom vendor by whiteroomComment: Nice Lesley! Such an honest and well defined shot and you've composed this fantastically well. Perfect DOF and congrats on another ribbon :)
Certainly showcasing our countrymen/women/children in the DPC top 10 with your portraiture!

Animal Alphaby tkjaerComment: I gave this a 10. I think this result is really unfair as this is an amazing shot. Bad luck, man, it's a bit of a tragedy that this wasn't at least in the top 10 in my opinion...

Drums Along The Riverby pablo1029Comment: Great colours, perfect motion blur and brilliantly sharp. Nice and simple composition but what more could you ask for? A fantastically executed live music shot... well done.

Moonlight Sonataby IsabellSchatzComment: Great idea but I think your lighting has let you down a little. I'm sure this shot was very different in your mind? The WB is slightly off and this is, unfortunately far too dark. Compositionally I would have maybe done things a little differently as well, not as much of a close crop and with the piano perpindicular to the body, if you know what I mean.
If I were you I'd persist and persist in reshooting this because I think this is a fantastic idea, good luck! :)

No more mr. Nice Guyby NazgulComment: Great shot, fits the challenge (obviously) and I like how you've composed this although I find the horizontal bar a little unbalancing. Nice and sharp, unusual angle, singer's face is in focus and in the shot. Is that Alice Cooper?

ONE hundred and EIGHTYby burtctComment: Sometimes I love watching darts...purely for the ridiculous commentary! Nice take on the challenge, perhaps you could have gone with a slightly shallower DOF and a slightly more subject exclusive composition...there're a couple of little BG curves and elements that are a little distracting.
Overall a nice idea and a good take on the challenge, but I think you could have executed it a little better. Good luck, mate.

The Kiss, The Bike, The Ladyby Pug-HComment: What's coolest to me about this shot is that your subject is in the same spirit as Doisneau, the man who took the shot on the billboard.
Great shot :) |
