Spice Up Your Life!by glodaComment: My favourite of this sort of take on the challenge, and a strong ribbon contender! A 9 from me...good luck with this original and well executed entry, I especially like the pose, the absolute SMOTHERING of whatever-granular-substance-that-is and the lighting is spot-on.

A Salty Breezeby J_EhratComment: This is an INCREDIBLY cool idea... and you've executed it perfectly. The DOF is great, the detail on the granules is perfect and the lighting and composition is spot on... A 10 from me...good luck with your truly creative and original entry!

The Sands of Time by CamComment: I like how you've exposed this to emphasize the flowing nature of things. You might get marked down for not isolating the granules and emphasizing the granular nature of the subject, but not from me :) I do, however, think it is a little overexposed at the sand on your hands. Perhaps you should have gone with a higher f/stop here to try and retain the flowing feeling but reduce the overexposure? Apart from that, I love it...
7 and goodluck!

no more waterby pollComment: Ostrich egg? Fantastically cool idea, you've exposed it perfectly to create that sense of motion with the sand...a bit like running water.
Good job - 8

docklandby whiteroomComment: I was right! Those Telkom phone booths are spottable a mile away! I think you captured this about as well as you possibly could have given the situation, you couldn't risk too shallow a DOF and I presume it wouldn't have worked from the other side? Love the textures.

what eating rocks will get youby myceliumComment: This is quite odd, although I like how've you've created the ghoulish feel so this is a pretty cool shot. I'm not sure how well this will do but I like it so...8 |
