Banks of the Amboiseby tiggermoComment: Oh my.
I just stumbled across this and I am in awe.
Sometimes it's all about the timing, and a song was playing here called Mother of the World, by Constance Demby, and Holy Moly did I get goosebumbs (still am as I am writing this). Your photograph came alive & became part of an amazing sensory input.
This is a superb photograph and applaud your vision in capturing it.

rinseby ShannonLeeComment: Ya' know Shannon, I've been watching your style developing over the last number of months, and in as much of a goofball you are, you are also extremely talented.
This shot - it is of a caliber and style that would be a welcome addition in a professional photographer's portfolio. I've seen some highly respected professional photographers' websites and see them display work like this in their galleries.
At this rate, you'll be seeing me standing in a line for an autograph some day, and will be telling others in the line,
"Yeah, I remember her when..." |

Flight of the Swansby MAKComment: Marac,
I had to do a lot of scrolling too find out where this placed, and was hurt to see it this far down.
Then I read something that diffused the votes:
I really feel that is my best ever shot not only for 2006 but for my entire camera life.
That's what it's all about really.
You could probably spend the rest of your life trying to find a similar shot, but it will never top this one. Well done! |

The Stormby manic35Comment: I had to go digging a bit to find this, and that is disappointing.
I aspire to be able to capture a moment like this - it belongs in a beautiful frame, in a gallery. |

Soldierby JeniYComment: You were given a pot of Gold Jen.
This is one I would have been proud as
hell to have been able to call my own.

newsby boysetsfireComment: One of my top ten choices in this challenge.
I am sorely disappointed in it's placement, but the single most important
statement that was made about this shot was your own:
I am proud of this shot.
That is what it's all about Nick! |

Ask Aliceby pointandshootComment: Thank You for sharing such a joy to behold.
After a few years on this site, the menu changes little with only variations in the recipes used, but this shot stands out all on it own, filled with a magical enchantment of sorts, and a color palette that truly does it justice.
Congrats on your 21st place in this humongous challenge Steve. |

Angles of Reposeby dsidwellComment: I love the part about the batteries - I've been there a few times too...
I really don't have to tell you that this is a superb photograph - the voters already did that by it ending up in 25th place, in a HUGE challenge - that is a statement all on it's own. If a stunning example of a photograph being all about composition AND lighting, well this is, without a doubt, one that should be a benchmark.
Congrats on a great finish David. You choice was perfect. |

Great White Egretby robdocComment: Seeing this at 144th place was a bit of a surprise.
I really expected to see this rank much higher in spite of the smaller size used. |

The Lion Sleeps Tonightby StuckOnTheFarmComment: I said it before, and I'll say it again - this is amazing!
Congrats on getting in the top 20 with this one, and was a good thing too,
as 3 simple faiths on your home page would have been just a tad over the edge..
:))
