Fall colors are a complex story for sure. The image is very busy making it difficult to find a true center of interest. The red line in the border, although small, does not help the image.

A cousin to the nautillus - and a great find. I like the placement in the frame and the lighting. To improve it a) remove the carrot colored and shape on the right side, b) remove the white line in the border - ending only with a thin black line. The colors and the blurriness of the background work well to contrast the shell.

Not exact;y sure what it is - but t does not matter. It is indeed very complex and shot very well. The formal, centered composition works fine for me. The tonal range is right on - crisp whites and deep blacks.
