Deep Surrender inspired by Robert Mapplethorpeby clarmoreComment: great sepia/duo tone-works great for this image.
i would have like to have seen more of the person underneath, but maybe that was your intent?
and maybe perhaps a bigger image?
actually, maybe there isn't a person underneath?
maybe he has just suffered a horrific motorcycle accident and his his arms are mangled like that?
maybe it isn't even a he?
whatever, it's a good image and i'm sure it will do well. |

Fading Flowerby h2Comment: yes, very simple and elegant and other words that mean similar to what I just said.
oh, and you'll probably get a ribbon or top ten placement, it's that good. |

"Honey, Norman Parkinson is on the phone..." by front_elementComment: excellent tribute.
I don't usually predict ribbon winners simply because I'm not very good at it.
So, I hope I don't jinx this by saying "I think this is going to get a ribbon"!!!!
the only thing I don't like about it is that the shelf appears to be coming out of her head ad I keep getting drawn to it.
But maybe I have a secret fetish of shelves coming out of womans heads and I don't know about it yet?
Hmmm, now there's a thought :-) |

Hitting the Cityby rapidComment: I'm not too keen on the purple tint/cast that you have going on.
i think a simple black and white would have been better. |

busy Newyork cornerby HalimComment: i think this could have been improved if there was some motion blur with the subjects-just to give it that sense of movement or busy-ness(?) |

Government in the Gutterby ShannonLeeComment: A nice controversial title and an imaginative point of view.
My only negative comment would be to crop a large part of the bottom off the picture as the building seems to be lost in the photo. |

... encroaching ...by tonyvComment: nice leading lines towards the city,
I don't know if it's haze or a shallow depth of field, but it think having the city in focus would have made the picture a little better.
but a good job anyway. |
