McKayla's Home Runby aliciapunchesComment: Nice snap but could be improved with editing. Leveling the horizon, a tighter crop to take some of the distracting background away, and some work with colors, levels and curves would turn it into a pretty good photo, IMO. |

The Egyptian Pyramidby hossamComment: Sorry, don't feel hope here.
I have been to Egypt and seen the pyramids. I think you could stick to the subject and make the theme work. I would suggest backing up so you see more of the pyramid and put it in some kind of context. I would consider possibly shooting it from an oblique angle and to try to get it at sunrise or sunset so you get more dramatic shadowing. Jodie Coston has a free online photography course (//morguefile.com/ver3/classroom.php) which would give you some tips on composition and lighting. Keep at it, and good luck. |

"I Hope These Brown Eyes Work!!by fredluvsHimComment: Without the title, the tie in to the theme would not be evident.
There are a few things that would have improved it, I think. The blacks are very black and the whites are very white, and there's not much in between. If you have photo editing software, try adjusting levels and curves to soften the extreems. This is a basic editing challengs, so selective work with contrast which might have helped the table and drape aren't allowed, but you might try some selective adjustments to see if they would also help. I can't really tell where the light is coming from. It feels like there might have been a light from over your left sholder, and possibly one from the right, high up. They are a bit too bright for the fabric, and not quite bright enough for the dog. Possibly a darket fabric would have allowed the lights to work better to smooth out the image.
I'm sorry if this feels negative, but there are things you can do to make it better. If you can reshoot it with these things in mind, or even re-edit it, you may find you like the results better. |

I HOPE this smile will get me a treatby stupidcatComment: Without the title, the tie in to the theme would not be evident. Composition is ok. Lighting, focus, levels and DOF could be improved. As is, the subject seems flat and without emotion. Sorry to be negative, but if these elements could be improved, the photo would "pop" more and feel much more dynamic. |

Feed Meby JJacobsonComment: Good idea, but IMO poorly executed. There is a lot in the photo that doesn't relate to your main idea (book, receipts, drumstick(?), spring, and other background elements). Focus on the fish is a little off, maybe due to glass which you might not be able to help. Composition could be a bit stronger (see threads on rule of thirds). Reflection of the light in the upper right of the bowl distracts. And a bit of work with levels would help, i think. Sorry to seem negative, but if you can go back and reshoot it keeping the above in mind, I think it will seem better to you. |

Each Small Candleby pottersclay75Comment: Simply outstanding!
Very strong composition. Subject matter has plenty of punch. Colors and levels are good. Focus could be a little sharper. And if your camera can handle it, a larger image would have been even more effective.
Among my top picks for this challenge. |

Toleranceby instepsComment: Very risky photo in this forum.
I like the composition, colors, levels and DOF. Clearly there is a terrific emotional kick, and point of view here. Very well done. This is among my top picks for this challenge. |

Cloudsby soccerrocker1989Comment: Very nice sunset. Unlike a lot of shots in this challenge, this photo has a lot of interest. The usual clouds draw my attention and create a sense of motion which contrasts nicely (both in color and sharpness) with the silhouetted ground. this is among my top picks. |

He loves me, he loves me not...by dwterryComment: Very nice job. Among the best of this challenge. Subject, focus, colors are all virtually perfect. They do a nice job of conveying an emotional punch. |
