The color really seems off in this photo, a green tinge to it. It also looks like it was taken with a flash which gives it a flat look. It also would help to use the full 640 pixel width.

As a photo this does not have much interest. A closer view of the rings might have helped. The wrinkle on the right hand side is also a bit distracting. It also looks like your resizing of the image added some jaggies to the image.

Short Straw

Nice idea but I have a few problems with this photo. The shadow makes it look like the hand is resting on a surface, as I assume it was, which is not what you would expect for someone holding straws for a choice. The hand looks fake, I don’t know if that was the look you were going after or not. The photo is darker then it needs to be. And there is a fair bit of compression artifacts showing.
