Briannaby nico_blueComment: Hi Nico, this is Bruno writing to you from the Critique Club,
I guess there's not much left to say for me... I personally think that the clash of noble coolness and the pale skin of the model clash in a very punchy way with that ill-fitting office chair. Without it, there wouldn't be enough color in the picture - at least for the more narrow minded DPCers around.
I like the casual, relaxed looking but probably terribly uncomfortable pose, the well lit model and the equally well but not too evenly lit background and the fine details like the pieces of jewelry and the very subtle but effective make-up.
Over all, in my book, a great portrait that certainly deserves the average vote it got, if not more.
Congrats!

Aerial Equilibriumby SimonjwComment: Ditto, Tranquil - FANTASTIC shot, Simon!
I didn't get to vote on everything but this would have scored at least an 8 from me. People are so narrow minded when it comes to concepts like "portrait". What the heck is up with that? If the face doesn't make up half the frame, it's not a portrait?!?
Oh well, true artists don't need the mob's approval to feel good about their own work... right guys?
Cheers from the other end of the world,
Bruno in Switzerland |

Green for Yellow, Red or Blueby cheekymunkyComment: Are we there yet? ;-)
Good take on the challenge! Technically sound, funny details (that is Bush, on the money, right?) and FINALLY some good use of selective desat again. Congrats!

Over Easy?by soupComment: WOW, great shot and concept. Cold sweat, huh?
Very well thought out (caged egg, "sweat", two conspirators lurking in the "half shadows") and executed (light, DOF, composition) for a speed challenge, one of the best I've seen so far, am giving you a 9 for this. |

The White Vanby APComment: HEY, that's my car! It was stolen three days ago!!
Just kidding, good shot though. Good use of motion blur, the white makes it the only car you can really make out, if the red didn't have its headlights on, the setting would be even more "dramatic". Really like the shot!
Give you an 8 |

Against Photographers Everywhere.....by AzCKellyComment: true, true ;-)
Good one, hope people get what you're saying - I did. I just say San Francisco...
I think some more trees might have been cool, i.e. a lower framing or, even better, an actual subject "blocked" or ruined by wires.
8 as is. Good use of negative space/silhouette! |

Men In Black Agent by Joey LawrenceComment: very X-files... well done, the only thing that bugs me is the patch of grass in the lower left corner of the picture. Makes the whole thing a little too real IMHO.
