Oh please, not ANOTHER uncreative use of selective desat. Sorry, but I've definitely seen too many of these on this site. Yours is about the 7th picture I rate and the third I comment on in this challenge. Sorry, I really don't care for this too much. Composition is a bit lame, title even more so. The shot is technically weak, in my perception, either soft or pixelated or overcompressed.

No offense, please, I'm just giving you my honest feedback. I don't care for the "nice" comments that don't tell me why people do or don't like my shots, so I treat others' work the same way.

If I was Beavis or Butthead, I'd say: "wow, big a$$, hu, huhu, chicks are so hot..." ;-)

As I'm not, I'd say: great shot! Very surreal, almost spooky with the distortion and the high contrast the body and the dark water on the right. I'm interested to read how you did this, in terms of body of water, lighting, time of day, perspective, lens etc.

Good luck with the challenge. I guess the shot may not be "nude enough" for some of the folks on here...

I guess you get all these silly comments saying that a nude without at least a visible butt crack is no nude - right or wrong?

Anyway, I think this is a very cool shot. I love the contrast between the different shades of blue and the fabulous skin tone. The hair and the tatoos add to the overall quality of the shot. I might have tried a less thight crop and possibly a more interesting composition, too. Then again, I don't know what your setup was and whether the background and/or subject would have allowed you to change these things.

Hope this helps

I think it's a pity the knee is cut off/goes beyond the boundaries of the photo. However, I agree with gloda that the frozen moment is cool. The "almost" makes it all the cooler in my eyes. Otherwise one would have to wonder if the person was lying down or suspended in the air somehow or just plain stuffed like a dead animal ;-D

Cheers,

Less pattern on the underground/bed linens (e.g. just one color plus interesting lighting, thus ripples and shadows) and a lighter (or no) top might help this to become even better.

Plus the twist in the hip looks sort of unnatural, definitely not relaxed.

Either show more hair and arms (maybe even all of her) or leave them out all together.

Just my 2 cents.

NICE!

Love the letterbox format, the motion blur, the great light, contrast between the blue of the sky and the greenish yellow of the lights and people's clothing.

Great use of the "wrong" white balance setting!

gets a 9 from me, actually, I'll even give you a ten.

I don't care for the yellow/greenish background. otherwise well done, good composition, funny twist with the pressed down strings that break up the otherwise parallel lines that dominate the diagonals.

very alive, but very snapshotty, too. Is that a very cheap camera or a terribly inappropriate ISO setting causing all the noise I see here?

Wow. truly stunning! Love the combination of relative clarity and extreme softness of the background.

Reminds me a little of my own pic:

nice, off center composition, like the diagonal the guitar's neck creates, the guys right arm with all the muscles and veins showing. Wonder how this would look in color.

Very nice!
