What a SWEET Day!by LydiaComment: This is colorful and funny and joyous. And your background just added to the slapstick aura of the whole enterprise.

Fairy Woodsby BaldurTComment: Enchanting scene, with birch trunks like rays of sunlight and a filigree of vegetation, green and gold. Beautifully balanced both in color and composition. The artistry seems generated in itself rather through purposeful filtration. Not to say it is unprocessed, but rather modestly so. The stream wending through the lower left is the distinction that endows the photograph with imaginative depth and beckons the viewer forward. Nice to breathe deeply in here a while.

July 4, 2020by mitalapoComment: Luminous, spectacular image. Seemingly lop-sided but, it appears to me, handsomely, daringly balanced left and right. The bright city casts its glowing shadow on the water, sending emissary colors into the night. The parabolic arc of the water is a fascinating compositional element, about which the scene unfolds. The person in the water, in a pose that clicks, is the emotional lighthouse. Perhaps he's empowering the city, unbeknownst to a sleeping citizenry. The out of focus waves are an ingenious framing device. More than satisfying.

The Neighborhood Showby MelethiaComment: A Fourth of July celebration, American paean to independence, though the freedom aspect is rather nicked. But this is lovely, a quiet - except for the fireworks - gathering in the neighborhood, friends and familiars joining in a summer ritual. It looks so very right. The beautifully balanced composition echoes the intimacy and mood. Happily lit by the fireworks. And details such as the moon peeking through the tree, the hyphenated wire overhead, it all conjures up a delicious moment, birth of a golden memory. Perfect in black and white.

Remains of the Dayby Bear_MusicComment: A simple/complex composition that sings. Lovely placement of the main elements on a fascinating, wild grid-like background. I wonder if that background was translated into black and white. And of course the boat, symbol of freedom for so many, so ultimately off the grid.

on and onby jmritzComment: I like this, like bars of clouds, or the shadows of venetians blinds. In itself and in the "on and on" of being. |
