The stunning unhappiness of this child is almost unbearable. We can only pray that it's not all like this, and there's a plenitude of light as well in his life. I don't know how to say anything more.
No doubt a terrific photograph. |

There's a curious intimacy to this sparse graveyard. The toning sets the overall mood. The looming sky creates a sense of shelter, as do the structure's walls, a metaphysical windbreak. Yet it's gloriously out in the open as well, drinking in the light. Kind of breathtaking. |

This goes to show that the possibilities of beauty are infinite. So cleanly formulated and, in its own depths of expressiveness, simple. This underwater confection is then topped with the cherry of its own reflection upon the under-surface of the water. The red and blue work wonderfully together. Her hands alone could carry the entire image. |

This type of image moves me with the ordinary dearness of the world. |

Absolutely beautiful colors, sublimely arrayed. Not only the saturated blues, but also the tan, light brown beach or shoal, and that runny egg yolk. All the more poignant because it's a view of this very world. |

Absolutely enchanting scene. The watercolor softness and subtlety impart a timelessness so sweet within which to linger. The hints of color in the mountains and skies scintillate. Exquisitely inky. |

Prometheus and the Making of Man by gyabanComment: It's a very fine image, though I now know from your commentary that I hadn't understood what your intention was. From your explanation I can appreciation your ideas and implementation. It's wonderful to see your empathy for, and intuition about, animals and their complex, rich lives. And about their subtle feelings and emotions. It's interesting that we can broaden our "humanity" by according all creatures what is all too often claimed for ourselves alone. Thank you. |

Ephemeral delightby mariucaComment: Perhaps this lovely photograph speaks to me because I'm so familiar with this path alongside the reservoir in Central Park, NYC, and have many times visited it. Maybe not, as it's beautiful without any personal connection. My wife, Shelley, and I have so very much enjoyed our strolls here, in springtime and otherwise. I treasure these memories you have evoked for me, in these days without. The cherry tree blossoms fill the world.
Personal favorite of the challenge.
