I miss you alreadyby beatabgComment: Handsome, moody image. I love the purple toning. The depth and reach are wonderful. The sun's rays are glorious. Really takes one's breath away. |

The Noise of... Daylightby LydiaComment: Despite your self-depredation, I find this photo to be marvelous. The blues are gorgeous. The sun is gorgeous, overwhelming in its generous embrace. I love how the noise imbues it with a fine, shimmering texture. This feels like the ultima Thule, where secrets can finally be revealed. The perspective is awesome. Thank you. |

let me down easyby posthumousComment: Beautiful, charming, full of optimism. Underscores how precious every atom is, in the majesty of the whole, and exemplified in nature as it sustains us. The colors are exquisite. Would the entire world be so. |

Twoby GinaRothfelsComment: Stunning image in its sharpness and insistence. Great angles, including the curves that are actually straight out of the strong wide angle lens. The sky and clouds of this time of day are terrific. The grain works really well. The mood, at least as I feel it, is of a full quiet, but ready to spring open. That's the drama of it. Very strong. Gave it an 8. Sorry, deserves a 10. |

The Gathering Placeby vawendyComment: Pelicans are such startling, wonderful birds, and to see this multitude of them is joyous and heartwarming. They do mighty well in silhouette. In a way, they remind me here of windblown dandelion seeds. Handsome image. |

6:58 PMby mariucaComment: An intimate glimpse of a cozy room, lit by the sun peeking in. The casual assemblage fits together like a complex jigsaw puzzle, especially color-wise. The computer screen, in my opinion, is jarring. On the other hand, though, I love the red, trapezoidal lampshade, which might also be seen as jarring. It's a soft brightness, and it beautifully lights the painting behind it. The view out the left hand window opens the scene up, partner to the sun-filled window. Captivating. Also, nice title. |

Renewable Energyby salmiakkiComment: A lot to appreciate in this orange soaked image. The top and bottom layers frame the central sky, mountains and wind turbines. The turbines take on the aspect of technological calligraphy, or semaphores. They contrast subtly, but pointedly, with the birds. The sparkling bottom layer contrasts nicely with the smoothness of the upper portions. All of a piece, a lovely one at that. |

"all that's to come and everything under the sun is in tune"by beatabgComment: Lovingly given to us, this seemingly straightforward image is beautiful and moving. Not just the donkeys/burros/mules (don't know), but also the sun-drenched sky, the bright field and the flowered shadow pathway. The composition is quirky but does work. Still, we come back to the tenderness of the animals.
Come to think of it, a second second favorite of the challenge. |
