Wonderful, wonderful image. I don't think bird photography offers anything better. The pose is elegant and sculptural, graceful and energetic. Not only is the shadow cast on its own wing terrific, the real fish is held close to where the eye of the shadow would appear. Also enhancing the photo are the ripples, droplets and reflection. The wood on the right -- and hey, things are where they are -- is the only distraction.

Great black and white photo. The depth of focus, highlighting that rib cage, is a perfect choice. The light bulbs are a marvel. The people here are secondary, which suits the main focus of attention.

There's a clear, clean serenity to this image that is very satisfying to gaze upon. Is the title implying that these wooden pilings are reminiscent of a cemetery? I like that somersault of imagery. The black borders do not add to the photo, in my opinion.

Because I have no special knowledge of wooden canoes I'm sure I'm not giving this handsome craft its due. It's the fairy tale-like surrounds that appeals to me. The light on the moss-covered trees and rock, and on the stone structure, is what I really like.
