Last day of Don Quixoteby Alex_PetriniComment: Peaceful, elegant sunset. I like this image, have given it a seven, but I'd like to ask a question, offer a subjective suggestion and make a picayune quibble. The colored rays angling down from the middle left -- are those accurate or color noise? I just don't know. Next, I'm thinking that cropping off the orange area on the bottom might improve the overall scene. Lastly, I find the post and cross-piece below the right of the windmill a bit distracting. Please accept these comments in the spirit in which they're given. |

Morning Lightby RamblinRComment: The dog makes the picture, the light meets the challenge. I like, here, how the sparkles and reflection are blown out -- it conveys intensity. I also like how the light bleaches the green of the water, except where in the shadows its richness is retained. You can feel the day begin. |

Light Drinkersby LydiaComment: Excellent silhouetted study of these two men picked out by blue. Both formal and informal, quiet, even modest, done with an accomplished eye. The touches of additional color, green and burgundy, subtly add expansiveness to the image. I really like the rim light on the upper edge of the foreground chair. Fine title. |

grounds keepersby NiallOTuamaComment: Lovely. The light on and entering the structure is a pleasing cooperation of both soft and bright. A terrific frame for the delightful scene within. An elder is passing along knowledge and lore to a child. The depth of field is perfect. Satisfying, heart-warming and altogether fine image. |

Sunset in the Mountains by MargaretNetComment: Lovely alpenglow frosting the peaks of this range, complemented by the purplish layer of clouds behind them. Then the layer of bright blue covered by descending night, which feels mythically dramatic and significant. Great view, and lucky you. |

Here comes the Sun by NeatComment: Terrific, dramatic sky and receding mountains. The foreground, which extends half way up the image, is less interesting, in my opinion, aside from the dark and light contrasts and its contribution to great depth of view. But not enough to keep me from giving this an eight. |

toesby flahermaComment: The sensitive handling of light enhances the tenderness of the portrait. Beautiful scene, like a visual lullaby. |
