a z u lby Ja-9Comment: Beautiful and beautifully done. I love the thin ribbon of land between sea and sky, one of my favorite takes in landscapes. Its isolation really nails its distance. Your choice in composition, emphasizing the monumental sky, is perfect, in my opinion. The colors, too, are lovely, a symphony in the key of blue and white. Delicate and strong.

A man and his dog in the seaby NeatComment: Stunning, nuanced monotone. Enough tones, transitions and textures to fill a gallery. Lots of movement and dimension as the scene stretches away, the person embraced by the swing of the land, the dog venturing out into the sea. Even the footprints in the sand serve to emphasize an eventual vanishing point. I hesitate to ask if the horizon is tilted or if that's the play of extended terrain, especially as the rest of the image looks right.

morningby TiberiusComment: Absolutely lovely. The foreground is already distant, then the scene skips beyond the strip of land to larger ships more distant still. Their size only emphasizes their actual immensity. The furthest one could be the rising sun. The blue tone works in harmony with what we're looking at. I really like how the shimmer of the water is echoed in the grain of the sky. And the composition is nicely compelling, half and half as it is.

30 minutes of nightby JudiComment: Personal favorite of the bunch. Festive, exhilarating, transporting, and very pretty. If one takes the somewhat ominous clouds to heart, then this might seem like last days in Eden. But I see it as chiming in resonance with the universe. |

Gatecrasher by AmmieComment: Fine image, perhaps not panoramic enough for many voters. Seven. |
