Stormyby ZoomdakComment: OK, knock it off! You're not allowed to be this good for at least another 5 years! Congrats on the green. Gotta mark you as a favorite to avoid the rush. ;-) |

Fallen Leavesby agwrightComment: You were robbed. Robbed, I tell ya! Looks like you were punished for lack of obvious strokes, but this is a perfectly valid example of photographic impressionism to me. It really was one of the best shots in this group. |

Lumiere de bougieby graphicfunkComment: Wow! A garlic grater- that REEKS! er... rocks. Congrats on your top 5 with this incredibly inventive technique. It really does look like an oil painting (though perhaps more 'old master' than impressionist). ;-) |

Country Sunrise by BradComment: OK, so let me get this straight...
You have two simultaneous ribbons on the DPC home page.
You have ribboned in each of the Invitational challenges you've been eligible for.
You won with an obvious PS filter in spite of the purists.
You have four ribbons in your last 8 challenges.
...and you CLAIM to be an auto mechanic who just picked up an old camera off eBay? Riiiiiight!
Aren't you due for a LONG vacation someplace desolate? ;-)
Congrats, Brad! Again. |

Stroboscopic Flowersby JackoComment: Good color, and a very creative approach, but I'm not entirely sold on this look as impressionism. I think it's because of all the sharp little details visible with each flash. This might sound weird, but on my screen it looks like cropping down to only the bottom right corner (just the pot and background) would be a better representation of the soft style of impressionism I envision. |

Country Sunrise by BradComment: Beautiful- and very believable as impressionism. There is no attempt to disguise an apparent filter effect put to good use. While so many filters look like an afterthought, this is an image that probably looks MUCH better filtered than it did as a straight photo. My only nitpick is that the white sky distracts from the warm colors pervasive in the rest of the image- I'd crop more off the top. Otherwise, well done! 8 |

Christmas Spiritby BobsterLobsterComment: Beautiful image. I want to score it high, but I don't personally think of soft focus alone as impressionism. I mean, the colors and composition are excellent, but it's practically a traditional photograph. Very daring of you to use such a bold border! 6 |
