Passing Timeby justinbrookComment: Hi Justin, I think this is one of my favourites from your portfolio. Very nice light on the sea and good composition. I see we hang around in the same places: North Berwick, Deep Sea World, Parliament Building, Edinburgh Zoo (?...guessing from the meerkat). Keep up the good work. Ben |

The Peakby pmichaudComment: I guess this has been 'channel mixed' to B/W. Was the green lowered in preference to the blue? Certainly the tree line looks to be a lot darker than the sky. Interesting idea but not sure it matches the Adams type. |

El Acantiladoby SammieComment: Great vista with well-toned rockface but the weather let you down for the knockout punch. |

Ansel Roseby BrookiedComment: The magnificent tones enhancing th texture make this look carved, not grown. Original slant and not suffering for it. |

Willard Knobby dsidwellComment: Enhanced contrast between dark peak (I can't bring myself to use that name!) and framing cloud feels a little forced but overall this is a class act which I've bumped up 2 points. The covering of snow is just enough for highlighting without dominating the tones (a problem with several entries). Great capture and processing. |

Plain Perspectiveby SimonjwComment: despite the very modern subject matter, I'm sure Ansel would have approved! Only suggestion is that perhaps the horizon should be less central vertically |

a photograph is made, not taken.by fstopopenComment: One of only two 10s
Truly spooky in a Sleepy Hollow way. Fantastic detail on the bark. I really don't find the lack of detail in the rolling landscape behind as it only enhances the mood. Burning has ben artistically done..especially the hill in the apex of the arch which makes an eye and pulls the eye in a clever fashion. I think, in truth, Ansel didn't delve into melancholy like this, but that's defintiely our gain here. Added to favourites. |

A Tribute to the Legend 1902-1984by GringoComment: One of only two 10s
Composition:great central focus framed by the two peaks - a sense of isolation and three dimensions.
Post-Proc.: Tonally very dark but detail maintained skillfully...just enough light to balance mood. Sharpening high but not too much. Exceptional burning on peaks.
Overall, reminds me of a highly detailed lithograph. A gem. Added to favourites. |
