The Key's to Successby jefalkComment: Lovely composition and lighting. Wonderful colours and attention to key elements. Evidence of substantial time and effort. Well done. |

Young Loveby YomiComment: Good choice of models. God composition and effective use of DOF. Portrait let down though by impression that he is in sharper focus than her - with a narrow DOF both models need to be safely within the shallow focus plane. |

Model in daffodilsby KevinRiggsComment: Attractive portrait. Artificial lighting does not appeal to me personally and this style of portraiture is effective for commercial purposes and for clients but rarely provides an attractive artistic image. |

Ericby MousieComment: Hi eric! A competent portrait but a bit bland and uninteresting. Eric is a good model. Go for a walk with him and try some candid shots sitting, walking, talking etc. You will probably manage to capture somethign of his character. |

My Babyby StevePaxComment: A good subject but you are too close to do him/her justice. It's an unattractive image due to the model looking off frame and the awkaward angle of the mouth. Her right eye seems a bit red sugesting flash was used. Flash is deadly to human subjects. Natural light is infinitely preferable. Suggestion - place infant in a comfortable chair. Sit down 3-5 metres away, focus on her face against a neutral background, observe, wait and shoot. Sooner or later you'll get somethign better than this without even trying too hard. |

Reluctant Modelby scrum8Comment: Potentially good subject (not sure about hairstyle :)) but the blurring at edges looks very unatural and adds nothing. Otherwise colours and composition are appealing. |

Surprisedby oksamitComment: A good subject but this feels like a snapshot. A bit more time spent on trying alternative angles and compositions would have yielded an improved image in my view. |

All That Jazzby jpochardComment: Nice try but it is too obviously posed and the model appears ill at ease with the instrument. The face is also the last thing my eye comes to rest on since the frame is dominated by the rest of her body and the shiny trumpet.
The backdrop is a bit messy also in the bottom left. A drape of this kind is fine but put it slightly out of focus by using a narrow depth of field in order to lose the wrinkes and focus more attention on the model. |

Jenniferby EddyGComment: Technically a fine portrait with efective lighting, framing and colour. but it lacks emotion - I sense little of the character of this person and in this sense it lacks an essential quality of portraiture. |
