Vertical Takeoffby FalcComment: Wonderful capture! Adorable songbird. Wondering if this is the true robin-redbreast...we don't have this one around here. There are a few distracting elements that could have been cloned out or, in the case of the brown leaves that compete so much with the bird's red breast, selective desaturation would have lessened their presence. Nonetheless, sharp detail and a nice moment . . . . . . |

It's Howard the Duckby itsrazziComment: Nice light on this mallard, though a catchlight in the eye would have helped. Environment leaves lots to be desired...especially the unappealing pea-soup colored water . . . . . |

Wonderful job with your little old point-n-shoot!!!!!
You obviously have "the eye" and a bit of common sense to go with it. With your talent and attitude you're bound to make some really great images. Keep it up! |

Falling into oblivionby JinjitComment: I can't believe this placed so low!
After a cruise through the comments, though, I see that you may have been the victim of dim monitors. I really wish folks would check their calibration before voting!

Lost Not Foundby Man_Called_HorseComment: Beautiful and well-titled!
It reminds me of a poem by Stevie Smith:
"Not Waving But Drowning"
Nobody hear him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.
Poor chap, he alway loved larking
And now he's dead
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
They said.
Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning. |

flowby sigrun_thComment: I could look at this for almost ever....
Lovely how the composition keeps the eye moving and resting, like a bride walking down the aisle of a church. |

If only I could paint Rosesby XileboComment: Imaginative and witty! How well this fits the theme! What is there to say? Beautifully composed. Interestingly stated. Quirky. Playful. I am soooo jealous of the talent you display--let it go to your head, if you will. (A two-digit score for you.) |

A Midsummer Nightby whiteroomComment: Poignant and gritty! The color binds this composition well. Hard to look at, at first, but the execution of the image overcomes that. Interesting statement. |

I Dream of Eternal Spring by ccraftComment: Entirely sweet! This is an exceptionally good example of a use for a super-wide angle lens. The colors, the feel of the pic, the wonderful expression and pose of the dreamer--all work to convey the statement. Well done! Highest marks. |
