Amazing feat, your commenting on so many of the photos in this challenge, due to being home sick and all that. And I very much appreciate your comment on my entry (as I mentioned before in the threads).

The reason I'm leaving this comment, is that, frankly, I didn't like or get this photo...I scored it rather low. Being one of those with pigtails, and given that no one else who commented has them, I felt I needed to point this out...

Wow! That really looks like a hand grasping a rolled papaer! If that extra little piece of shell was not there it would be hard to tell this isn't a sculpture. Nice in B&W too!

Interesting light and color in the bubbles. It seems by both your title and the inclusion of the bottom of the bottle that you are trying to explain the context? Perhaps you hadn't decided if this worked as an abstract or needed a point of interest. Sometimes it's just fun to look at the way light plays, isn't it?

Lovely subject. Blue is a perfect choice for the background, but it would be nice if it filled the space behind. A light tent would help minimize the harsh shadow and hot spots which pull the eye away from the work of interest.

This has a great deal of graphic appeal! I like the effect of sharpening, making it almost posterized. Lovely color in the eyes plays off the otherwise nearly monochomatic composition. (You must have a patient cat to put up with that--or are you scarred?)

Beautiful texture. Wish the color were more of the lavendar I associate with amethyst --but only because you mentioned it in your title. Nice idea. Like the shape of the one crystal that looks like a pyaramid.
