image oneby PennyStreetComment: Having a photographers eye, I would think, makes this daily commute more tolerable. A constantly changing view that most don't care to see. I like your essay because it's personal and true. Stark reality is a good thing to capture. Thanks. |

Pacific Beach. Winter. 1by LevTComment: Beautiful shades of gray! That usually doesn't come to mind when I think of San Diego. I like the progression of images along with the music you chose. A very reflective collection. Message edited by author 2014-03-04 14:33:47. |

1.entre-chien-et-loupby mariucaComment: Were some of these taken while you were sleeping? A truly beautiful collection that lets our imagination take over. Wonderful subtle details that lead us but don't reveal to much. Message edited by author 2014-03-04 20:48:54. |

You Are Hereby ubiqueComment: Paul, this is a wonderful contribution to DPC and street photography in general. It’s rare to see this much insight into how an image was created. We agree that better images find you and not vice versa. I also enjoy taking and viewing what you’ve called Gonzo photography. If done well they can be eye openers. That being said I feel documentary photography has more staying power. Maybe even better with time like a fine bottle of red wine. This classic style of street photography will always have its place. How we evolve as a society needs to be documented. All those classic shots by Frank, Cartier-Bresson, Erwitt and many others were once just candids of what happened everyday. Even with their documentary style you can see a little Ganzo here and there. I appreciate both and always enjoy your contributions to DPC. |

Nine Blocksby PaulComment: Nice collection of images and the grid framing is appealing for your story. You handled the self imposed square crop constraint well. I like your decision to have your subjects looking out of the grid. Some of may favorite street photography leaves me wondering what is just outside of the frame. Thanks!
