'A' is for Anthuriumby anniekComment: Just a lovely shot. I think the ladybug detracts from the shot, but I know it is a popular DPC convention. Never the less the framing and lighting make this my pick for a ribbon |

The Backstop by mpetersComment: Congrats on the ribbon, but even more are due for the set of images as a portfolio, great work Mark. |

A is for Abigailby toddheadComment: I do love the lighting here and the intimate distance, but they come at a price for me. My eyes get pulled right into her lovely eyes, but instead of focusing on the iris and her expression, I focus on the reflection of the lights and it pulls me out of the examination of the subject into thinking of how the photograph was lit and the technical issues of the taking of the image, at the cost of examining the subject of the image.
Had the lights been touching at the top and crossed by a third forming a capital A, it would have been amusing for this challenge, but either that or the strong parallels you have here, would have detracted from the delicate and subtle beauty of this image. Still a very nice shot, but for me the reflections detract from what might have been a great shot. |

A U T U M Nby hotpastaComment: What autumn is doing here in the spring is beyond me, however this is a lovely delicate and complete shot. |

"Ant"by Joker1114Comment: When a voter has seen many shots of the same subject (ants, asparagus, flowers starting with A) and your shot still gets a "wow" you have done something right. Grats |

Automobile Adby Bear_MusicComment: Nice clean clear shot. I'm not sure if the boat's placement winds up hurting more than it helps. It is a bit too close to the auto for me. If it was further out in the frame it would add to the background, as it is it struggles for control of the eye as the eye moves around the outline of the SUV. minor quibble in a well handled shot. I'm guessing this is Robert working the DOF of the 10-22 |

Aloftby spidermonkeyComment: This is such a great location and subject, but its undercut by your editing, if the vibrance and blackpoint had been brought up, with a bit of vingeting, this image would rock. |

Astounding Abodeby stenellaComment: The title hurts you here, since there is no adobe in the frame. Calling it "airy architecture" or the like would have worked better IMHO. It is a nice architecture shot, and you did well with a complex set of tones and colors to let the eye move around the frame without excessive highlights and shadows. |
