Marnet's Rialto with work in progressby SistoComment: Shame you couldn't have shot while there was something more than dark in the sky, and gotten her fuzzy brooding look in editing, because this is a great idea for a varioation. Love the boxed building. |

Entwination II by Samantha_TComment: There is ferocity in the both model's expressions that twists the image into...well almost a parasitic relationship. It might be the slight rotation off vertical, or something else, but while Judi's shot was edgy but balanced, this feels rather unhinged. The technicals are strong, well lit and great skintones. |

Rolling in the Deep by hotpastaby MargaretNetComment: Lovely tones, and a pretty exact recreation, but I miss that shaft of light Enzo shot into the water that added another dimension into the water and added a twist on the classic pier shot. |

Tribute to Writing Implements by H2by DCrest01Comment: Oliver is perhaps the best guy with studio light on the site, so taking on one of his images is always a challenge, and for a shot like this the details are key. His light on the left with a touch of bounce to fill in the right side with the darkest part being closest to the camera made his shot spectacular. Here the even left right light, and the touch too much empty frame along the bottom come up a bit short. Still you got 90% of it, just not the touch of magic. |

The Stareby MAKComment: Part of the power of the original was that razor sharpness of the narrow depth of field and all the blur of the rest. While much of this image is a fine interpretation, the areas in focus and those that are blurred just don't make sense to me. The hand below the subject's face looks like it ought to be in the same plane as her eyes but they are vague and lacking in detail. I like what is here, but I miss the little details that ought to be in the frame. |

My corner of freedom (1094550)by jmritzComment: A lovely graphic image that seems to share nothing but a title with the referenced image. Not sure how to score this.
On return, I see this not as a graphic emulation but a spiritual comparison. The subject has nothing in common but who is to say where another finds their freedom? Perhaps I am being lose in my interpretation because I happen to like the image. |

Spawn by PenelopeKComment: Wow, quite an improvement over what I saw during voting. It is a bit nicer without the Sega Genesis green graphic along the lower half.
Lovely tones and complex reflections. The DQs are the fates bringing your score back into balance for the bad scores you got for the corruption of that day and a half. If you only knew someone on the site council who could make sure such things did not happen to your entries. Message edited by author 2015-06-01 02:57:55. |
