The Premature Burialby DeniseComment: A softer brush to keep the edges on the cat from being so crisp will make him blend in a bit more. Here is a quick tutorial for PS but if you are using another program look at "feather edges". Judi did a masterful job of feathering in and matching color densities in her wining entry. The bones of this entry are very good, a few technical changes would have pushed it further up the placings. |

by LevTComment: just gorgeous! And yes it would have scored better than your bum, no matter how much you love him. He is prety great too, but not as DPC friendly by far. |

The Black Catby vawendyComment: Very clever and quite creepy. Something about the mortar lines in the brick seems to steal a bit of the thunder from the noose, but that is a minor quibble on a shot that ought to be on the front page. |

A Dream (... a lonely spirit guiding)by AllenPComment: A very nice composition, though I wish the bird were higher to break up the very strong line between figure and church, but you got a great mood here, even if it is a bit more Rodger Dean than EA Poe. |

Alone by gyabanComment: The central image is a bit over the top for Poe's sense of vague dread, but this is beautifully done. i just wish the three elements were a bit more integrated. |

Annabel Leeby sjhulsComment: This lacks the darkness of tone I associate with Poe, It looks more like a Japanese folk tale where the object of fear is often very beautiful. Never the less it is in the cream of the crop for this challenge. |
