I think it would have been stronger with less sidewalk and building, just the case, the guitarist and the posters. still a strong shot of a struggling player juxtaposed with tho ads for those who have made the big time.

you would score better if you used all the space you can, anything less than 640 looks cramped. i wonder why you left in so much cloudless dull sky and cut those lovely water reflections off short.

its tough to shoot something this dark withou blowing out the modle's face, even more so when the model is this fair, but since the fur is the subject of the shot it really needs to be more visible in the shot.

Nice job going the other way with this shot, and though as a rule i hate borders, I think this one is brilliant, emphisising the intention of not using all the space for your shot, and to me implying the intention of not using everything else you might use, of living smaller and simpler in the face of our consumer culture. nice tones and focus, in fact good enough that that little string of stitching on the left side bugs me.

too much of the shot is out of focus, fine idea but if you had pulled the wadded cash forward and gotten it all in focus and bigger in the image, and the box was further back and as soft as it is now, but smaller, you would have had a contender. great idea and title.

a it too "tales from the crypt" for my taste, but a fantasic job on the set up. Afew minor quibbels, the hot spots from under the coins are too white and they distract ffon the hand, either a differnt color or more coins would have helped. while I love the smoke the tone is so similar to the rest of the composition that it blends a bit instead of popping. as i said minor quibbles, great work, top ten

rather gross, but it nails the challenge and is well thought out and executed. Looks like a ribbon to me, ( not brown). If your recived comments on this challenge are like mine some might not like the fact that the whole subject is not in sharp focus and will assume you did that my mistake rather than by choice, I rather like your choice to allow the front of the focal plane to soften.
