The Star Attractionby rasdubComment: I've enjoyed looking at this picture and all of the famous elements of the San Francisco Bay area you were able to include in it ... almost too many to mention... lights of the Alameda Shipyard & Hayward Hills - 'Old' Bay Bridge - Moon rising over Coit Tower - skyline of Downtown Frisco - Ghirardelli Square - the Marina - Sutro Tower - the Avenues - Jupiter - the Surrealistic fog enveloping the whole scene - the waves - the wonderful shadow and lighting of the bridge and cables - the Northbound traffic - the lack of an ugly wake - the lack of noise in the darkness - and a very true to life International Orange color of the bridge... The element that I have given the most consideration to was the 'aspect' of the distortion of the North Tower. The focal length of the lens you used allowed for the inclusion of all of the wonderful elements that can be seen from this particular vantage point. Many of which would have been lost had you moved back and up then used a lens with a more 'normal' focal length much of the magic of this picture would have been lost. There are so many pictures of this wonderful site that I’ve seen taken by others and myself yet this one is wonderful and begs another look â€Â¦ far too many others of the Golden Gate do not. I’m looking forward to seeing the details and hope to get to see a full resolution copy of this someday. 10 |

80's Porsche Classicby banditComment: Grerat Car ! I have an 88 Turbbo S (Silver Rose Metallic) which is a factory 'ringer'~ one of the 208 that were made for the Escort Cup & the Playboy Cup. It's still a great car and runs with the 'Big Dogs'. I really like the compression blur & the sharp focus in the center. Many of the people that have ridden in mine mention that the effect you've captured in the picture is how they felt ridding in it with while I'm instructing them in High Performace driving at the local Roadracing tracks. Well Done! |

St, Mary's Lighthouseby barbaraanneComment: A wonderful photo that suffers for me by 2 points lacking the enhancements to the gamma, saturation and horizon leveling available in advance editing. Still a great photo with ptential to be better. 7 |

The Innocence of Youthby FotoMunkiComment: For me this is a toss up (actually I would like to see 2 Blue Ribbons awarded in this 'Best of 2005' challenge) because both of them to me are;
"Skip, In my book your picture & that of the "Two Inniocenceof Youth" kids both illustrating excellently ~ "Flawless Execution" 10's to both! |

Moonrise at Dawnby C_Steve_GComment: The lack of noise, the perfect gradient of the waining light "dawn/dusk" make this a sleeper shot. Photographic skills & post processing are combined here in a photo that is exquistely well done ... additionaly the lack of over sharpening for detail on the branches exhibit a restraint that pays benefit by not being over processed. My only complaint (9 instead of 10) is that I prefer color to black and white. |
