I love the sharpness of the dog with the out of focus foreground and background. Definitely nice bokeh. I would have liked a little more space on the left side of the frame, so that the dog was not so centered. 7 from me.

This is beautiful, but looks very flat and underexposed to me. Curves or levels could really make this one pop. I love your DOF here.

Wow! What an expressive look you captured here. I am drawn right in. Stunning. I think I would burn down the right side of the frame (his mom) a little, especially the bright spot in the upper corner.

Beautiful. I love the way the seeds 'ring' around the outside of the frame.

Lovely. I love her running with the one leg up. Her hair blowing really shows the wind (of course, for a kite-flying day), but I really glad we can still see her great smile, too. THe line of the string and her arms is very cool.

You captured a nice moment between the two boys here. I love the eylashes on the older brother. It looks like you used your on camera flash here. Flash is awfully harsh and flat light here. Try turning it off and increasing your ISO or opening your aperature to take the shot with jsut the ambient light.

I like that, mixed in among the flowers, there are the strong vertical lines of the daisy-less stems. I think it makes the image even more interesting to look at. Nice job finding a good arrangement of flowers for the foreground to be in focus. I think the two flowers in the lower left corner balance the focal flower in the upper right.

I love the blurred background, but I think that it would have been better to have enough DOF to have his cute little feet in focus, too. CUte shot. I like the texture of the sand (on the beach and on him :)

A well seen shot and excellent exposure. I think a little more contrast would really mae the colors pop on this shot. (A minor nitpick, too, your horizon is not completely level)

Hello from the critque club,

A great story-telling shot here. It works very well with the lyric that you chose to depict.

I like the detail and sharpness of the whole shot. The details of both the man and the stone wall behind him really add character to the image. I like the vertical composition and the negative space. It adds weight to the image and gives him a real sense of place. LIke he is smaller in the shadow of the buildings around him. I do like that you included the sign in the upper corner, too. It closes off that corner and keeps my eye from leaving the frame.

I agree with the commenters that it is a pity that his feet are cut off. That happens sometimes and can't be avoided, but it is definitely something to look out for when framing your shot. His face is also a little shadowed, which is I am sure the way the ambient light was falling. It would be nice to find an angle or another way to get more light on his face.

Well done, here. I like this one very much.

Cheers,
Liza
