Alice in Wonderlandby tvsometimeComment: she has the "chasing the white rabbit" look alright; though it seems she's already obtained her spot of tea for the mad hatter's party.
the expression is what sells this image for me, regardless of location/era.
i give it a 7 |

Grapes of Wrathby snafflesComment: I like the lighting and grit of the image.
Good DoF and the drops coming from the bottom add impact to the fist.

we the living by Ayn Randby jmritzComment: This certainly seems like a willful free-spirit.
i like the candidness of this image, and the possible stories that this could be telling.

Lord of the Fliesby jaysonmcComment: Several notable quotes from this book jump at me when i see this image. (below)
It looks like the boys were having fun here, and that's the most important part - capturing them being kids because further down the road that's what you can look back at this and remember.
I love the imagery here, the lighting is great through the trees and the detail is crisp.
I may have cropped a bit more from the top, but it's such a small criticism that it's hardly worth mentioning aside from being honest in my thoughts on the image.
A 9+ and contender for my favorite in the challenge.
âWe did everything adults would do. What went wrong?â
âThe thing is - fear can't hurt you any more than a dream.â
âMaybe there is a beast⦠maybe it's only us.â |

Fahrenheit 451by hopefulcrafty1Comment: A very good interpretation of the novel
i hope that a 'good' book was not harmed in the making of this image

"The Great Gatsby" Rememberedby beatabgComment: every time i look at this, and i've been back to look a few times, i can't see this as a serious single image. the dress, shoes and legs look cartoonish and flat, the boat and glass look directly lit in a way that the area here does not look to be capable of.
there is a fantastic attention to detail on everything else, and while the car may be reminiscent of 'old sports car', it does not seem to fit for the period that Gatsby would be set in, nor would the car be in this state of disrepair.
im giving this a 5 |

Keep the aspidistra flying - George Orwell (1936)by hajekaComment: This certainly gives the impression of the named plant, but i find the DoF slightly too shallow. i'd love to have a bit more focus going back, and i realize that is hard to do while maintaining the focus throughout the top areas.
Still a 6 from me. |
