i like that you've gone to the trouble to have the bulbs lit. i think an external light source other than the "Family" would have helped. your backgound line is a bit distracting. perhaps you could have better exposed the shot so your background was closer to black. there are some splotches around the right bulb wich are very apparent, be they dust or miss editing. the composition overall seems very flat to me...perhaps you could have taken the pic from a different angle.

good idea. your lighting is very harsh though. i believe the shadows could have worked if only if they were alot stronger, so your best bet was probably to get rid of them with another angle of light(s) or reflector(s). the wrinkles in your sheet distract a bunch., and looks like they just could have been pulled out. the positioning of the shoes seems a bit safe, but definitely works. perhaps rearranging the postion of the pairings might have provided a more dynamic shot. upon further reflection just switching the brother and older daughter's might help break things up.

this is very odd...though i'm thinking extremely unintended. you have positioned yourself to be at a view of a wilderness stalker be it man or animal. i just finished a jeffrey deaver book...maybe that's my problem. i think you could have done a lot more with this family as you "stalked" them down the river...i think you just needed to wait for a better composition.

nice focus. nice lighting. looks like you used a flash that was very mellow and definitely enhanced the pic for me, though the reflection on her lips is slightly distracting, and draws me away from their eyes, which i feel is the best part. i hate the background you've chosen.

nice emotion from their expressions. like the backlighting. the grain and odd contrast just don't feel right.

i find the placement of their eyes making for a very good composition of the dogs. but i find the arm of the bench cutting through the center of the pic very distracting. when i photograph my dog, i like to take the tags off. I feel it lessens the "snapshot" type of feel to the pic.

i like the sepia. maybe not so many pictures would work better for me, it has become quite cluttered and lost a lot of it's emotiveness. perhaps a more dramatic angle would work better for me as well.

great leading line. i really like the red wagon wheel peeking out. perhaps a bit oversharpened
