really like the position of the head. perhaps oversharpened a bit on the wing tip and face. just seems odd, since it kind of looks like an owl and it's against a daylit sky. I guess it's supposed to be a hawk. i guess i should have studied at the aviary before this challenge. i guess i'll give you a 6. i still wish there was a cloud in the empty part of the screen.

nice close up and personal view of the duck, i feel like very close to him/her now. i wish you had cloned out the weed pointing to his bil and the one perpendicular to his bill in the background. focus could be a bit tighter on the eye instead of the bill.-5

The tones and soft focus in spots is incredibly soothing to me. I'll need to remember to come back and stare at this after a hard day of judging under-creative challenge attempts from all those who gave this under a 5. Though there does seem to be a bit of what I assume is dust on your sensor, I don't think it should have been a big factor in scoring in an open challenge.

I like this a lot better than most. But i can't help but wonder how much more i might have liked it if you had shortened the stem so it stopped with more free space at the top. Or perhaps just didn't get quite as tight on the apple.

Good idea, but i would have kept the stemp upwards, so it wasn't placed so far into the pic. Would have also worked better for that rule of third thing some people are so concerned about.

1 of the few photographs i've seen on this site where i can actually feel the objects in the image interacting with each other. As i look, i feel the lower trees wanting to bend further away.
