inside outby posthumousComment: Nicely captured details and good light angle for the strands, but the composition could probably have been improved. Also some fill light on the dark side couldn't have hurt - a white posterboard or piece of paper would probably do the trick well enough, failing that some aluminum foil or an actual reflector or light. |

It's Eggdeliciousby jgirl57Comment: The lighting on this didn't do you any favors, and the background doesn't help much. Usually shooting eggs in water or resting on some kind of textured surface would look better than a glass bowl, and plastic plants never look very good close up.
The shape and faint texture of eggs could be very good for a B&W food photo, but only when lit softly and evenly overall. |

The True Root of all Evil by vawendyComment: Interesting - I can't tell if I like the angle of the plate, or the added texture. After looking at it for a while I'm not crazy about either, honestly. |

Rice 'n' Raisinsby GeneralEComment: Can't say that sounds like the tastiest snack to me, but maybe it's an acquired taste. I think the lighting on this could have been approved, and has it actually been converted to B&W?
edit - I meant to say improved not approved - typed that at work and approved is a much more common word for me to use in work emails ;) Message edited by author 2014-09-29 22:29:13. |

Excellent job capturing white feathers all the way to the dark neck with detail. |

Breakfast at the Lucky Turtleby dtremainComment: Looks like there was just too much dynamic range for your sensor to capture it all - the light parts are blown out and the dark parts are lost. Other angles would have looked better as well - either top-down, or getting a lot closer and making some part of the meal or another the focus of the photo. |

Braided bread and Stilton cheeseby snafflesComment: Looks tasty, but it also looks underexposed. More lighting from another direction to assist the soft lighting already there might have helped - this could work very well in B&W with the right lighting and processing. |

ruffageby tvsometimeComment: Striking portrayal of the veggies, but between the contrast, the hard lighting and the chewed up fork it's just too busy in my opinion. |
