Love how you've given the little cottage personality. I'm in two minds about the grain. I like it in the front and on the cottage, not so fond of it over the bg.

What a weird effect! It's as if the child is underwater peering through a porthole ~ but then you figure out 'that's not right' and look again and again...

I 'know' it's straight, but it makes me feel like it's leaning to the right. Nice use of the light coloured jacket against the dark and sombre background but I feel like the focus should be more on your son - maybe without the river section?
