Alone With His Thoughtsby agwrightComment: A calm and thoughtful shot here. Lots of details to look at in the picture, I like the rock in the background plus getting the man there is great timing. :-) |

Komodo Dragonby HawkeyeComment: Looking at this I can definately see the texture etc, but as the shot isn't in focus it's a little different to give it a top score. Maybe a faster shutter speed, bump up your ISO to get that if it's too dark. A great effore though, 7 |

Cedarby joebokComment: The lighting on this is excellent, looks like the 3D drawings I'm used to doing. Well done :-) |

MILK: It does a body good.by pearlseyesComment: I really like the feel of this shot!
The grain works well, adds more texture to the shot. The lighting is great, a good white on the milk. 9 |

Splashdown by agwrightComment: Absolutely stunning shot! I really like this! There's some pictures that you see and you immediately like, this is most definately one of them!
Your lighting is perfect, the tones in the cream/milk isbrilliant. It has such a smooth feel to it, just what you think of when having strawberry's and cream!!
The positioning of the strawberry is spot on too, perfect! Definately full marks here!!
A simple looking shot to the eye, there's little to look at, but again so much! You see the strawberry, then keep looking at the splash, the droplets, the shadow, the slight reflection, I could go on...
Very well done, a well deserved 10. (And most probably a nice blue ribbon too) |

Poised to Strikeby MarkBComment: Had voted this as a 7, going to explain why it isn't higher.
It's funny, for some reason this shot has really stood out for me. I think I'd have preferred to have seen this desaturated to look more B&W or greyscale. I do like the grain on it, think it adds something extra to it.
I copied the shot to my PC and had a little play with it (hope you don't mind) I desaturated it, ran neat image over it to smooth out some of the grain but then sharpened it. I then added a thin black border round the edges. It made the scales stand out a bit more, stopped the right hand side from fading away.
As I said, I do like this shot, maybe you don't agree with the changes I've suggested etc, PM if you like, but I personally feel a few wee touches in PS would have helped. |
