Good picture...my eyes find lots of little nooks and crannies. This is clearly metallica yet there are no glaring hot spots, but the lighting is good. I have to laugh too over the oxymoron here. Making a person laugh with a photograph is a great thing to do. I'm giving you a "9" Gracious
P.S. I changed my mind..."10"

2 different textures here....meets the challenge. Funny you should choose a sponge. I took some of sponges too. Email me if you'd like to see a couple of mine. itsbygrayce@yahoo.com I'd like to see the dof deeper.

ohhhh my! I still haven't seen this color in person but this is stunning! Strong textural details, rich coloring, well exposed, well focused. Just what appears to be a sun spot or sumtin' near the eye bothers me. Of course that can be fixed up easily enough outside of the challenge. Would like to see some catch-light in the big baby's eye. But all that said I end with "very nice."

Definetly one of my favorites.....probably will end up in my top 10. I really love this photograph, the light and shadow adds dimension to the already present interesting texture of the architecture. I am already a fan of arches so you gain my interest there. Your depth of field is good. I'm glad I can look at any point in the image and see relatively focused. The foreground flowers on the right don't seem to be crystal clear, but certainy acceptable.
Overall I love the rustic appeal of this picture and I'd hang it on my wall. (as if I could find any room on my walls. )
I'm back to say after voting on all the submissions, this is the only one that I gave a 10 to. I like it so much.

Although it is a loved object, it doesn't have universal appeal. It does have texture, and obviously a dimension unseen by the casual observer. Lighting is good. It looks sad, being hunched over.

I like this a lot. Simple, refreshing. I like the black background contrasting the white bowl. Of course the strawberry color is divine. The one thing I'd do to improve this would be to wet the berries.
