Placesby claudiadfComment: A vertical crop would better suit the magazine cover format. I would take out the partial tree at the left, and you'd have a nice composition of parallels as well as a magazine style photo. |

Southern Gardenerby mcmurmaComment: Nice contrast between the weathered metal and the leaves. This has the elements of a magazine cover - vertical format, an area at the top where type could go without obscuring necessary detail and a good composition. |

Wine Spectatorby MWittComment: This certainly fulfills the basics of a magazine cover - vertical format, a large space where type could go and very pretty colors and composition. |

Country Livingby xburnerxComment: I could picture this as a magazine cover, except that magazines almost universally use vertical format shots. I really like the colors and textures; it's almost like a painting. |

Swirlby amsmythComment: Great wood grain, nicely lit and sharp. I like the composition - it keeps the eye moving around the picture and into the cetral hole in the log. |

SOLEby Polecat123Comment: Nice rendition of texture. I'd like to see more FOF to keep the whole picture sharp. |

Oxidationby QuadrajetComment: I like the rust colors and textures. The composition is good, but I'd like it better upside down (I know that's not reality, but I think it balances better that way). |

Survival from Deathby PDavisComment: I like the contrast of the green plant against the dead leaves. That green fern in the corner of draws the eye from the main subject. |
