Land Mattersby KaDiComment: If "land matters" why does the sky get the color? I could imagine the barn, surrounding trees and meadow in color, with the sky and the foreground as a black and white "border." |

chilling outby TLL061Comment: I like the bright colors on the kid and the effect of swirling water, which works well in B&W. |

Watch the Birdyby BooZonComment: Beautifully colored bird, and the desaturation works well with this background. |

Little Girl Blueby gabrielrjrComment: The waterfall looks great in B&W, and the girl would have been lost without the color. Nice use of selective desaturation to make her stand out. |

Tokyo Towerby PhilipDyerComment: A nice black and white cityscape with the tower really standing out in red. Nice effect. |

Red flavorsby rameviComment: Yum! I can almost taste the strawberries, and they look so much redder against the black and white background. |

On Dutyby pmichaudComment: Good use of color to make the subject really stand out. I sure helps to have a subject so colorfully dressed. |

Eyes of the Catby CantiqueComment: You have to use the cat that you've got, but I think those blazing yellow eyes would have been really spectactular on a black cat - assuming the texture and detail on the fur were well rendered. Nice idea, and a sharp photo. |

Homesickby PhilosComment: Nice use of desaturation to separate the picture elements - viewer vs. pictures. |

"Pink Daisy"by sfarrell23Comment: The flower is awesome, but the background is so uniformly black that it could just as easily be selective lighting as selective desaturation. It appears that the leaves have retained their subtle color, rather than being desaturated. Good marks for the picture quality, but some deduction for the lack of any black and white subject matter. |
