toothpasteby aplomb76Comment: I like the way you chose to capture this! Good crop as well. |

Audioby tyrkinnComment: Interesting shot, though I would not consider a wireless mike to be low tech (nor non-electronic as the chalenge called for!) I like the composition (negative space) but the crop on the singer seems to "in-between" for me (not a severe, intentional crop, nor a minor, non-crop). Or something like that ;) |

The Rolling Pinby TommyMoe21Comment: Good idea and interesting angle. On the critical side, the bright spot is a bit distracting, as is the dark part on the end of the handle (drop off is so "abrupt"). |

Hand Crushedby LisaCanComment: Good idea! IMHO focus should be on items being crushed, seems a bit soft. I like the comp. Lighting, however, seems a bif flat, and perhaps the skin was treated with neatimageo or it's a closup issue because the hand eems a bit plastic. |

family sealby coldaComment: Nice idea for low tech. Overall, this is well done, but to me seems done in a rather "sterile" studio manner; it might have been nice to do this on a desk, with candlelight, etc. to add atmosphere. |

Low Tech Water Pumpby IntelliComment: Good composition, nice lighting and sharpness. Might be interesting to shoot a closup of just the windmill wheel itself as a geometric abstract. |

Braidby vtruanComment: I am not sure what this has to do with low tech. I'm sure you have some low tech concept that this is following, but the message (challenge theme) has to be somewhat apparent to the viewer! Also, this appears to be oversharpened, and unevenly exposed/leveled. With regard to the latter, I think it would have been better to crop the bottom out and stick to the contrasty region which is more appealing. |

Sailing into Historyby mirdonamyComment: Nice idea. While I sort of like the soft pastel look here, it seems to me this is "underprocessed"; it might be improved by using USM to sharpen it a bit, upping the saturation slightly, applying levels or boosting contrast a bit, and possibly cropping to get the boat out of horizontal center. Where to crop is a little issue: it wold be nice to have only this boat in the shot, but to get rid of the tug would require cropping too tightly on the tall ship. Still, this is advanced editing, and a crop with a little "removal" might have been a good idea. Or more simply, you could try cropping on the left. After the challenge, if you want, I'd be happy to help you play with this a bit. |

The Tools of My Fatherby fotodudeComment: Great subject matter choice, and very nice shot. One idea for possible improvement would be to not crop so tight at the top, and to make the drill more visible. But very nice overall. |
