Fire-Chiefby bigjComment: It's nice, but the eyes seem almost creepily dark. |

Calm After the Stormby brimacComment: This piece is too blue (and hence too monotonous) for me. Personally (and feel free to disagree) when I have a shot like this that is so close to being two tones already (in this case blues and whites), I like to just go ahead and make it do what it's trying to do using a monochrome or sepia range effect, and then play with the contrast and lighting. I think that just might be the thing to push this one over the top. I offer a 6. |

The Blue Boatby chaliceComment: I love the composition, but I am unfond of the coloration of the background cityscape. Something that would be really effective on a shot like this (post-challenge, of course) might be to try two-toning the background and the water and leaving the boat itself (which would be pretty easy to select with a lasso tool and some patience) in its rich blue color. If you try that sometime, email me the result. I'd love to see. |

snowflakesby k4ffyComment: It looks like there might have been moisture on the lens when this was taken. The splotches in the upper right and lower right hand corners are very distracting to me. A skilled Photoshop regimen might be able to eliminate these blemishes from an otherwise finely-executed composition. |

On Guardby amcraigComment: The foreground is pretty washed out. I sure would love to see more color in those deer...but maybe that's asking too much. |

14by cabaComment: I realize the subject's face is the point of focus here, and this is an incredibly well-executed shot. But I find myself longing to see just a bit more of the torso in this portrait. It feels like it was cropped just a little too tight on the bottom side. I offer a 7. |

A Kid At Heartby TheresaAComment: Love the expression on this animal's face. You were so fortunate to capture this...I rarely have much luck with animals because they take SOOOO much patience to shoot. |
