This is a beautiful, serene shot...one that feels like it should have a story and has genuine emotional content. I think a little light dodging on the white of the boat to bring out some contrast might be nice...and I would personally blur the background or apply a gradient filter to highly the foreground, but this is still very well executed as is.

I graded this one a 6 during the challenge, but now that I reflect more upon my rating, I think I erred on this one. This is really a very striking shot, even if not the most original in this challenge. Thanks for sharing this piece of work.

I don't know how anyone could have given this a 1, even in such an intensely competitive challenge...save for the possibility (against the rules) of feeling that it didn't meet the challenge theme as well as others. In my opinion, this was among the most "photographic in nature" compositions submitted, and I hope you'll consider working this one up into a print for others to enjoy.

I really like this one. Share it with Krispy Kreme...they might make it part of their advertising campaign. My only complaint is the ugly telephone pole on the left of the sign. Don't know what to suggest about that, though.

Whatever software you used to create this "frame" effect on your border is nice. But the picture is way, way too washed out and overexposed. It's just not attractive and makes me feel like I should be squinting.

When I was experimenting with shots for this challenge, I was going for something similar to this. I was going to draw the focus to a hand alone clinging to a chainlink fence. I like this portrait, and I offer a solid 5.
