I think the composition is excellent. Polarising opinions is the sign of an artist. Keep up the good life.

I agree with Don. Sort of Jonathan Livingston Pollock. An expanding galaxy of the artistic mind. You're an admirable man John.

Gorgeous, a scene from a children's book where the birds are in dialogue.

Conquering the dark.

Let the night be your friend. Even more so, that time between the light and the dark, the gateway to the dark. The things you fear live in the dark, you can live there too. Perhaps your essay is telling us you fear the inhabitants but not the darkness itself. Interesting topic, I hope you pursue it and use the fear to enhance your curiosity.

I like this essay the more times I look at it. It is well composed with clean elegant elements. A good example of less is more, not an easy thing to achieve. Integrating the classics with your own personal style and interpretation is refreshing to say the least, perhaps an artistic ah-ha moment. I enjoy your use of clear, sharp imagery along with vibrant colour.

It is a great collection of moments and gets better with more viewings. I particularly like the last shot, spiced hot shrimp, very well placed. There is a good sense of the character of the markets and the people, you have captured a special slice of their lives. The cover image works well as seperate from the main essay.

I know these feelings. I think we all have special places like this that tap into our subconscious. The sense of belonging, ownership, stewardship and wonderment. The scenes are wonderful in their subtlety, for it is almost impossible to capture the expanse of these places and the enormity of emotional impact. A failing of technology, not of humanity. I particularly like the swipe at creationists who ride roughshod over the splendour of these scenes and your feelings/thoughts. Nicely done.
