..::Alone in this Big old World::..by NazgulComment: Very nice shot! I love the b&w choice, really gives the image more of an edge. The posture of the subject against the gritty background is fabulous, helps tie-in and give truth to the title. Focus is pretty good, seems a bit soft on the model and really good on the background though. Not sure if that was purposeful or not. I'd rather it the other way around. Use of light is excellent. One of my favorites this go around. Wonderful work! 9 |

Alone in the Wildernessby bexforlifeComment: Nice interpretation! I love the color difference, it is afterall what makes the shot work for 'all alone'. I think more of the green/brown trees surrounding would help enhance that feeling - not sure if a wider shot was possible. Also, I wish the tones were a bit lighter, I think it would've boosted the colors just a bit. Other than that, I like the composition and vision behind the image. Well done. 7 |

IN the HALLby murphxoxoComment: The subject certainly looks alone, the perspective and long shot helps support that. The lighting helps with the details, though I wish the woman was a bit sharper focus-wise. Also there seems like a slight tilt to the image, I can't tell if that was purposeful or not - but I find it a distractant instead of helping the photo. Other than that, its a really sound capture. Well done. 6 |

Trappedby chepeComment: Great colors and I like the focus. I think the lighting is good, though the slight glare off the collar is a bit distracting. The subject is good - the title helps bring the sense of solitude to the image, fits the challenge very well. Solid photo. 6 |

Where's the herd?by Dave GordonComment: Good solid image, well composed. I like the contrast of the colors vs the black & white cow. I wish the colors were a bit more vivid however. Lighting looks a bit off which may account for the slight dulling of the leaves. Fits the challenge well. Nice job! |

Sit awhileby MikeOComment: Great image. I like the differences in light, and the focus is great. Has a nice general alone feel, though I don't get a solitude or lonely sense from it. Colors are a bit muted but I think that helps with the overall feel of the area. No real negative aspects, would suggest cropping that light looking bit of tree? on the right. 8 |

The New Kidby thelselComment: Nice image, I like the duo-tone look. Great use of space, very alone feeling. Child's posture helps convey the feeling well. With the title, I'm wondering if this would have a greater impact if a playground/schoolyard scene was in the background. Just a thought. 7 |

...in thoughts.....by miss parkerComment: Beautiful photo. I love the b&w aspect. Lines and shapes are nice and crisp. The lighting is good, both it and the person's general expression help set the mood. Fits very well in the challenge. Great job. 8 |

Alone in a Foreign Crowdby CraigDComment: Wonderful image. Really show off the feeling of alone, in a nice unique way. I like both the difference in language and in the color - all of which are very vivid. Great focus. Composition really brings the mood home. Nice work. 7 |

What's on the Otherside?by BlinksComment: Nice photo! Colors are good, as is the light usage. Subject does give a feeling of solitude and pensiveness. Nice focus, has a good general appeal. Well done. 7 |
