Alone in the shadows

I like the idea behind this image, as evidenced by the title, but I think it needs to be lightened up just a bit because the image is practically indistinguishable. That may be what you were looking for artistically, but I can't determine who or what is alone in the shadows and that really affects my interest in the image. I think with a little bit more light you could still have the shadow affect, while letting in more detail for the viewer. 3

Excellent colors, use of natural light looks perfect. I like the expansive feel of the man vs. ocean. Great human interest. Fits the challenge very well. Focus is good, and so is composition. I find the tilted horizon to be the only major drawback for me. I can't tell if it was a deliberate choice, but it does distract for me. Well done! 7

Heh, ok I found this to be a cute image. Fits the challenge on a couple levels.. ;) The lighting is pretty good, though its kind of harsh in areas. The colors look bright but there's something odd about them, I'm not sure what.. does this have a filter of some sort? Interesting idea. 6
