Doesn't quite meet the challenge in my estimation as the light isn't very err.. light. The focus and lighting (there's that word again!) look good and I like the composition. The right side running up and over the top of the light is fairly blown out but you do get points for humor! I gave a 4.

Very nice! I love the gliding feeling the image has. Certainly meets the challenge and the lighting/composition is very good. Looks like you picked up some good details in the wings/feathers too. Well done. I gave a 6.

I can see where you were going with this, but it doesn't seem to meet the challenge to me, mostly because there is a whole lot of color being shown for a challenge focusing on light on white. The lighting is okay, but the composition and subject doesn't grab my interest at all. The hand holding the item up is very distracting as is the blue sky behind it. The focus looks good. Had the shot simply been of the white item on the bark of the beech? tree, I could see it tie in with the challenge much more. I gave a 3.

Wow what wonderful eyes indeed. Definitely meets the challenge. This is a great way to highlight those eyes too as they certainly stand out in the sea of white. The lighting looks okay but there are some blown out whites above the cat's head and some details of the fur seem to be lost - though whether this is due to focus issues, lighting or compression problems, I can't tell. I think the composition is good, I'm not sure if it would be even more dramatic if the cat was looking directly at the camera or not.. working with animals is never easy though.

All in all a great entry. I wish there was a bit more detail in the fur, but over all good job. I gave a 6

Interesting image, it is very dynamic. I'm having to stretch to make it meet challenge, simply because though it is lighter than some things, it is still fairly dark in comparison to the white background - the wisher things have a very brown tinge in much of the image. I don't know if this is an effect of the lighting used or not as there do appear to be some lighter colored ones. The focus is a bit problematic for me because my eyes are being drawn to the foremost wisher and it is very fuzzy, whereas some of the puffs in the clump further back have better defined features. I like your composition, it looks good tucked in the corner and your border is simple and doesn't hamper the image at all. Lighting looks good. I gave a 5.

That said. Certainly meets the challenge. The composition is a little.. ah.. boring, but it does the job! Good lighting, good clarity. Looks like you might have some compression artifacts but I had that problem too so I feel your pain. A very serviceable image. I gave a 6.

What a doll. Lovely focus, great use of the outdoor light (if other light sources are used, well good usage on those too). Composition is great though if the girl's fingers were down just a bit so you could see the bubble wand more, it might be a bit better. I love the outfit, the hat gives the image some nice color and brightness. I do wish it wasn't cut off at the top though. Very nicely done. I gave a 6

Heh, cute. Bubbles galore, great focus and nice use of light.. but I think the black/white nature of this image really lets it down. When I see a rubber ducky I'm expecting a splash of vivid yellow/orange color and so this image comes across kind of flat to me. I don't know if a selective desat. would've worked here or not, might have been too overpowering if it could've been done. I do like the bits of interest such as the tub upper drain and chain but I think color *might* have been better - unless there are flaws with the tub itself. Anyway, cute but didn't draw me in any more than that. I gave a 4.

Bunches of Bubbles

The image certainly has bubbles, but it is missing something to bring the viewer in and make them interested in what they are seeing. The lighting is good, you have some nice detailing in the bubbles on the left. They start to brown out where the light isn't touching them in the upper left corner, I'd say cropping that out would fix it up though. The focus on the scrubber? or whatever the thing in the foreground is, is not so great.. I can't quite determine what it is, and since it is such a huge element in the image, it should be in good focus.. otherwise it isn't important and thus shouldn't have such a prominent place in the picture. I think there are some good technical works here its just the composition that brings it down a few notches and leaves me unsatisfied as a viewer. I gave a 4.

Very interested in finding out how managed to get this without it popping. I like the idea behind the image, love the composition. Lighting is great. I wish the focus was a bit sharper on the bubble as it is wonderfully sharp on the shoes. Since the bubble is such a HUGE part of this image, the softer focus is fairly distracting. Not sure if you used a polarizer or not, but the blue of the sky looks like it could use just a smidge of depth and create a bit more contrast to the pink/peach of the shoes. Over all though its a wonderfully creative image. I gave a 6.
