Nice beadwork. I used to do that.
The picture looks way overexposed possibly because of spot metering on the dark center. In a situation like this, I usually take a test shot with the camera metering and then manually adjust the time to get the proper exposure. I usually don't mess with the f stop after I determine the amount of dof I want. On this one I would have shortened the time by 2 increments. Example: the auto setting said 1/60s I would have set it manually to 1/125s. Some people would bracket but I find doing it manually helps me have more precise control.

It fits the challenge. The composition is ok and I like the backlight. Issues are the hot spots, too much ni (takes away the crispness), the muddy looking background and the dust spots all over. They could have been cloned out for this challenge. That is a minor nit. You might be a non-paying member and maybe you haven't discovered the pleasure of the clone brush yet.

Good imagination. I don't know if I like the negative space at the top, but it's still a good picture. It seems to be a little soft too but I do need glasses.

The colors are really pretty and I think they would have been enough to carry the picture. By adding the drops and not quite carrying it off, the quality has been degraded. Not a big fan of centered compositions either.
I do have a water shot in my port, it took about 200 shots to get that one.

I like how the composition works on this one. Nothing is quite centered or on the thirds so it creates an unbalanced tension and the man is placed in a box which adds to the feeling. It's just a shame that it looks overexposed on my monitor. That could work if you were allowed to add different layers to the composition, but for here I would like to see more details. I like the addition of "exile".

Seems that the food and water dishes are untouched. Perhaps it is a case of dumb pet-owner (is) clueless? lol
As far as the picture is concerned, I really like the sharp shadow and clarity. I'm somewhat put off by the highlights but it seems that the photographer used a small apeture to try and reduce the glare so I have to assume that they were done that way on purpose.
