Baby Rolleiflex 1957by MAKComment: A very traditional take on the challenge and a very effective one at that. The color softness pervades every part of this careful conceived and executed image. Nice. |

Sentiment with Maelstromby vawendyComment: Engaging abstract, eye catching and attention holding. Not quite sure about the balance from upper left to lower right with the significant lower right emptiness contrasted with the maelstrom of color at upper left. Still compelling. |

sea shells in pastelsby BrennanOBComment: I'm enjoying being part of the DPL "First 10" side challenge. Yours is photo #8 in my random voting stream for the Pastels III Challenge.
A careful set-up. Well lighted to pastelly-ness and beyond. Add pristine reflection and voila! Seriously, the lighting control is really impressive and way beyond my capability. Nice execution. |

The Three Bridesmaidsby MarkBComment: I'm enjoying being part of the DPL "First 10" side challenge. Yours is photo #3 in my random voting stream for the Pastels III Challenge.
Pastels - for sure. Bridesmaids - a stretch. Three a possible miscount. Lovely nonetheless and I think there's a fight for the flower. Seriously, I'm not a big droplet fan, but this is different enough to hold my attention for longer than a sidelong glance. |

A lovely moment and attractive color palette. Oh, for a bit more of the eyes. |

Engaging pastel tones and quirky composition. Wish the face were sharper at the eyes. |

schoolsopenby bvyComment: Oh yeah. This is awesome. I saw a grungy station wagon of a similar vintage while shooting pastels and tried to follow it in hopes of getting a shot. No luck. Now I'm glad, because this one would put anything I might have done to shame. Love the title and the tableau for this. By the way, I think there may be a small piece of an errant third grader's bike paint on the right rear bumper. Hope this does well! |

Illusionby hihosilverComment: Symmetry interrupted. I know this subject/reflection motif is not uncommon. But here, the monochrome processing (even the subtle shift to cooler tones in the water), the frame aspect and the amount of distortion in the water come together in a way that makes this stand out as an exemplar. Nice. |
