Hi Janine,

I like this shot for lots of reasons. It makes a strong first impression and immediately connects to the theme; the color toning is really attractive as well. The diagonal perspective leads attention through the image well and takes you right to the 420 sign. The detail is good without being over sharpened. The only wish I have is for a bit more detail in the shadows. I want to know more about what's inside. Nicely done.

Evocative of an earlier time when printed words weren't limited by character, or screen size, or attention span. When handwriting was an art form. As a "vintage" photo, I'm not sure the color variation between the Autograph book and the smaller (redder) one above it, really works. Compositionally, I think it might have been better to eliminate the dark empty area in the center left. Overall, an attractive image that works to bring my imagination to the past.
