S P R I N Gby bspurgeonComment: Beautiful picture. I especially love the texture of the grasses around this poppy, fading between completely out of focus and in focus.
I do think the lighting on the flower might be a bit too bright. Slightly softer lighting (not too much of course, to not lose the contrast) and maybe zooming in a tad more, would give the flower a greater impact.
Great job. |

Xanthicby rooumComment: I am curious how/what you photographed in order to get this effect. This sort of image is generally a "taste" vote. Some people like it, some people hate it. Don't mind any of them, your taste is what matters. |

Orange Orchidby MisterMarcusComment: I am most intrigued by the background of this image. It is very interesting.
Flower is nicely in focus, and the color meets the challenge. |

Poppyby CJinCAComment: Beautiful Poppy! I love the rich colors of it.
I do find the orange background on the, left which must be another poppy, very distracting. I think this poppy would stand out better if it was surrounded by a purely green background which you could have achieved by changing your camera position a little. |

Tripletby h2Comment: The circle of light in the background that separates the vase from the flowers is very effective here. Well done! |

Fisher, the Orange Catby AmmieComment: I think getting away from the cat, and shooting at eye level of the cat would have been more effective. I find that especially with pet pictures, being on the same eye level makes a huge difference.
Still, the photo is orange, it is in focus, and the composition is interesting. |

Pretty Maids all in a Rowby LydiaComment: This is certainly an interesting photo and I do like it, but I do not really see the emphasis on the color orange. I am not saying that it does not meet the challenge (it does), I am just saying that it does not meet the challenge as well as many other entries, which is why I am not giving this image the score that I might give in a free study or better fitting challenge. |

A l i v eby phloverComment: Very fresh and beautiful. I feel like I could eat this orange piece right now, and it is my favorite of the fruit pictures. I especially love the crisp detail and the composition you chose.
There is a dark bubble in the bottom left corner that is distracting for me, and I would have gotten rid of that with spot editing. |

Coolby freakin_hilariousComment: This photo has a strange unnatural tinge that is especially noticeable in the blue looking grass (or what I assume is grass). Correcting this would I think improve the image quality. |
