Just a little too dark. You have to study it for a long time to even make out that something is in the glass. Or maybe a slight uplight to iluminate only the wine in the glass?
I only mention this because it seems that the wine is your intended subject.

perhaps a 16:10 landscape crop would have been better? Cropping the top down to where the top of his ear meets his head. Crop the bottom up to halfway between where it is and his chin.
His face is very long, creating a long vertical feeling line in the photo. To balance this out the photo itself should be long horizontaly.

I would expect to see more edge detail.....more crisp with an inanimate object. I think the composition is great. Maybe just a bit higher with the lighting.
