Bead & Tapestry Lampby ladpupmoeComment: zooming in a little further would have made for a much better detail shot! I do love the color in the photo and the nice warm glow! |

...A non Existing Reflection!by grgkopanasComment: Neat shot and good use of depth of field. I don't know if you did it intentionally or just missed it but the seam of the lampshade in the foreground could have been turned and hidden for a leaner effect in my opinion. |

Spare Lightbulbsby KarenNfldComment: I recognize this pitcher! Nice work on the lighting and setup! The photo is a little unbalanced in it's composition to me. The tall light and the short pitcher are somewhat mismatched. I would also like to see more at the bottom. The photo is unbalanced in it's placement in the frame as well. Too far to the bottom in m opinion. However the tones are great with quite a range of blacks to whites and the lighting is wonderful with great shadows to highlights but no blowouts or loss of detail due to being too dark. |

Lampby LydiaComment: It would work better to either fill the frame with the subject or center the subject. Here, it's not quite following the rule of thirds, it's just off center. Good bright background and great that the bulb does not dissapear at the edges because you exposed well. |

Spirit of Impermanenceby pointandshootComment: I must be not be enlightened enough to understand what the photographer is trying to communicate in the photo. Somewhat of a cross with a globe of light and a face peeking through... hmmm. 100 years old, cross, light, face, ghostly... Nope, not getting it. Scratching my head though.
Edited to add: It is a fine image with artistic merit. The grainy, ghostly feel leaves one with the sense that it is depicting the spirit world. A rift is opening up and one is seeing into it or something is coming out of it. This photo would otherwise score well in my opinion if it were in a different challenge. I don't think it fits well into this particular challenge though. |

Broad Riverby GarryComment: My personal interpretation of the challenge was to photograph something man made. I would accept a photo of a particular tree or a person or animal over 100 years would work, but this is a landscape photo and in my opinion doesn't represent the challenge well.
It is well done with the river providing a good leading line. Overall the photo is a little dark, but nicely exposed given the bright sky. |

$5.oo Per Yearby tfarrell23Comment: Good clean macro, balanced lighting, a few minor bright spots in the raised areas around the eyes, texture is seen but not really the star of this shot. The clean, white background really contrasts and detracts from the old time feel of the coin. It's good, meets the challenge, and would work well for an advertisement or product shot or an ebay auction description. |

Iron at Abandoned Flume - 100 yrs old this month.by crowisComment: It's a great detail shot, but doesn't convey the concept of 100 years old to me. I am sure it is the abandoned 100 year old flume, but this could be anything for all I know. It would work as part of a series of photos studying the subject, a diptych or tryptych or something, but standing alone it doesn't convey the message. |

The Rotunda (c. 1903)by dsniderComment: Beautiful composition, however the photo is somewhat overexposed in my opinion! It is beautiful though! |
