Pampas Grassby NikonJebComment: I think a different angle could have been used to isolate the one subject and eliminate the background grass on the left side. Otherwise, nice light and good bokeh background. |

protected Natureby Kevin_FlynnComment: The biosphere gives it that scientific edge... the golden light on the trees helps to enhance the great texture in the scene. |

Fallen Leavesby banmornComment: All the technicals are good... focus, sharpness, exposure, color. I think the composition is a bit lacking. You have filled the frame with similar subjects and haven't used any method to create a focal point such as use of depth of field, rule of thirds, etc. I think the centered leaf is somewhat of a focal point but it needs to stand out more. |

Sunrise at Lake Cattailby nickybComment: Where did you find one single cattail standing alone?? Setup?? hehe. Well I like the selective desat, but I would like to see a full color version to compare. I think the eye goes into the distance on this photo bypassing the main subject. The leading lines of the hills in the background pulls me right in. You captured nice light in the sky and lit the subject well too. |

020 Doorby mbrutus2009Comment: This outrage outtake has great lines. I gave a 6 on your entry... I could've gone with a 7 on this one. But alas...
eta: sorry... I was checking my comments marked helpful and saw this comment I made. Iphone comment with auto spell checker turned outtake into outrage. Hope you now know what I meant! Message edited by author 2011-12-02 14:48:23. |

Feuerwehrmannby fadriComment: I don't know if this is from Germany or not, but it made me think, how would the German people remember past wars? It is probably a very touchy subject at any time. But to honor the heroes of the nation, the ones who work everyday to save lives, is a good choice. I think getting in closer to the man and making more of a half body portrait would have worked to better frame the subject. |

unfurledby skewsmeComment: The red, white and blue is a good choice for this unexpected abstract. |
